Loving The Microsoft Way
I’m really loving the Microsoft way of doing things today.
Group Policy is awesome.
I especially love the integration with the Windows Installer for easily deploying applications to desktop computers.
But fuck it all if Microsoft releases every new version of Office in a way that doesn’t support Group Policy with Windows Installer…but rather batch files…. Seriously? Not even PowerShell? Weak.
Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!
Love Google’s Spam Filter
After a few ‘Mark as Spam’ sessions, it has finally learned that the Microsoft Partner Newsletter should never go to my Inbox.
(Why in this day and age does Microsoft NOT have a one-click unsubscribe in their e-mail?)
Random Stuff
While showering the morning, I had a stunning revelation: I am now older than the maximum APR I was ever charged on a credit card or auto loan.
Now it’s time to get a cup of coffee, then give in to the Stockholm Syndrome and call someone for Mothers Day.
oh god why no please
I hate spiders. I just spent the last 30 minutes digging through hundreds of creepy spider pictures and I still don’t know what the hell it is…
What the hell type of spider is this?
I love Wireshark
Just got called in to one of those ‘bizarre’ network issues that no one can figure out. Copier people blaming server people. Server people blaming copier people.
Just tracked down a bug that appears to be in the copier firmware that sends invalid paths to an SMB server.
I win.
*facepalm*
ALT+SYSRQ+O does *NOT* invoke the OOM killer. Duh.
Fun times
Just had drinks and a game of cribbage with the neighbor. Woot!
USB over RDP
To take a USB device plugged into a Linux box and forward it through rdesktop to a Windows box…you’re going to charge me $100 per USB ‘port’?
Are you f*cking kidding me?
So I can either choose free software and then pay your $100/port charge (or $500 for unlimited ports)…or I can just say ‘f*ck it’ and install Windows for something like $120….
What moron thought up that price point?
I’m a good person. I can make frosting. Yummy, yummy frosting,
